Kiev de la Tour got approved during the Zangersheide stallion selection last year in September. During this approval he demonstrated his showjumping qualities and scope. He doesn’t get these talents from a stranger. His sire is the 12-year-old GFE Candy de Nantuel, with whom Pénélope Leprevost excels in the international showjumping scene. Last year, Candy de Nantuel ranked second in a 5* 1m55 GCT/GCL-showjumping class in Paris and had the Marseillaise played several times thanks to his victories in Compiègne and Saint-Tropez, amongst others. His descendants inherit qualities that he also has, such as suppleness in the canter, balance and elasticity.

Not only the sire, but also the dam of Kiev de la Tour performs in the international 5* circuit. We are talking about Jade. Her sire is the Olympic stallion Cardento, a Capitol I son who is particularly highly regarded as a progenitor. Jade is a half-sister to Furmint, with whom William Whitaker and Niels Bruynseels jumped at 5* level and who has been a successful combination with Estelle Van Tricht for several years. Through his dam line, Kiev represents the Holstein lineage 890, the breeding family of Casall, Berlin, Frimella, Conally, etc. Kiev de la Tour did not miss his showjumping debut! In the two heats of the 2024 stallion competition so far, he has always remained faultless and, above all, the manner in which he jumped was impressive and is promising.
