KASTELL AN TARO DK

The Selle Français stallion Kastell An Taro DK was catalogued as ‘Très prometteur’ in 2023 after his approval as a breeding stallion in Saint-Lô. He combines the best performance blood of France with that of Holstein in his pedigree. His sire, the Olympic stallion Mylord Carthago, was not just a five-star performer, but above all a winner! He won the 5* GP of Helsinki, Vienna and Paris, as well as the 5* Nations Cups in Aachen, Rome and Gijón. Mylord Carthago has not only proven himself at the highest level, but also passes on his showjumping qualities and competition mentality to his offspring. In the WBFSH sire ranking he occupies 4th place, thanks to Tino La Chapelle, Bingo du Parc, Argan de Beliard and Valmy de la Lande, among others.

Cassandra d’Ick, the dam of Kastell An Taro DK, has jumped at international three-star level. She produced, for instance, Unik d’Ick (who was approved as a breeding stallion and performed at 5* level under the saddles of Mathieu Billot, Nicky Galligan and Hanna Mauritzson) and Cassandre d’Ick (Loïs Delbart). Through her dam, No Time, Cassandra d’Ick is a half-sister to the international showjumpers Cache VA (5*, Nadja Peter Steiner and Olivier Robert) and Catharina VA (4*, Serena Curcio). Cassandra d’Ick is Holstein bred through and through, with great names in her pedigree, such as Cassini I, Contender, Lord, Landgraf and Caletto II. She belongs to the Holstein lineage 2860, the breeding family of Marconi and Firth of Clyde, among others.
